Our commitment is to the individual young people in our
care. Following a thorough and careful assessment of the needs of the individual
we develop a programme of care which will support and encourage their positive
growth and development.
A key aim is to help them to gain awareness of
their own behaviour and how it affects others and to encourage them to
take personal responsibility for their actions at all times using a cognitive
behavioural approach.
We also aim to integrate each individual back into
the education process so that they can fully realize their potential. Our
separate independent school being focussed on the special needs of each
individual.
Our expectations for our young people are both demanding and
optimistic and we have demonstrated that our approach facilitates a progressive
programme of change.
By providing small family homes with highly committed
staff teams we are able to provide significant levels of individual support
which lead to positive outcomes. The individual staff teams are managed
and supported by appropriately qualified care managers.
Therapeutic input
is provided by our consultant clinical psychologist and in-house qualified
counsellor.
Our nine homes and separate school are based in South Somerset
and Devon providing all the benefits of a rural environment.
We have developed
a reputation for meeting and exceeding the expectations of the placing
authorities that use our services and this continues to be our aim.
