At New Horizon Centre we are committed to supporting and encouraging the positive growth and development in the young people for whom we care and to do this in a safe, secure, and stable environment that will help them toward a better future.

A key aim is to help them to gain awareness of their own behaviour and how it affects others and to encourage them to take personal responsibility for their actions at all times.

We also aim to integrate each individual back into the education process so that they can fully realize their potential. Our separate independent school is focussed on the special needs of each individual providing tailored programmes to meet their needs.

Our expectations for our young people are both demanding and optimistic and we have demonstrated that our approach facilitates a progressive programme of change which is evidenced and measured.

By providing small family homes with high levels of staffing we are able to provide significant levels of individual support which lead to positive outcomes.

Our approach to recruitment ensures that we select staff with the right skills and potential to meet our professional standards and to understand and empathise with the complex needs of the young people in our care.

Through the continuous professional development of our staff we are able to provide both effective and empathetic support throughout the process of change.

We have developed a reputation for meeting and exceeding the expectations of the placing authorities that use our services and this continues to be our aim. This has enabled us to achieve Preferred Provider status with several Local Authorities

Our nine homes and separate school are based in South Somerset and Devon ; providing all the benefits of a rural environment.
